Rainy days and Mondays always bring me down....well..not really.

It has been raining all day here in Kentucky but I like rainy weather. It gives me a good excuse to pull out a favorite book and enjoy a cup of hot tea.

I am really fortunate that I have a close friend who dries her own herbs and makes teas for all of her friends. I hope to learn from her and next year be making my own teas as well.

But regardless if I am drinking boxed tea or E's organic teas, honey is a must. Plain white sugar will just not do.

Meet the Koti's :0)

My name is Rhonda Koti and I have been working in the handcrafted bath and body market for well over 10 years.  I have watched the online market evolve and change and kept an eye on the marketing trends as well.

I also work full time outside the home as Manager of a local used media shop, Book and CD Hut. I love working there and meeting all sorts of fun people and interesting characters!

James has over 5 years working in the gaming industry and currently works independently within market research and collectibles.

We both began gaming in 1983, with basically the same crowd, unbeknownst to us since we played on different nights. In fact, all through high school we ' just missed' each other by mere moments.  We actually met for the first time in 2009 on a local online forum. I was asking for donations to send to wounded soldiers in Iraq and James was ready with some extra dice and modules he could spare for a good cause.

It was love at first sight ! Since then we have managed to turn our love of the handcrafted products and geeky gadgets into more than just a hobby and love every minute of it! What can be better than working towards a common goal with your best friend?!

James and I love funding new Kickstarters when we can.  Sometimes I will peruse projects by location-most often Kentucky but usually I look for something more along our lines of interest which is the gaming world.

One thing I like about Kickstart is that I can help support a new or old game developer without heavily investing a lot of money into a project that may or may not make it.

We have backed 7 projects but only 5 have been successfully funded, with the most recent being Silver Gryphon Games specialty Silver Gryphon Dice.

But Kickstarter,  http://www.kickstarter.com, helps with funding for lots more things than just geekery and games.

I funded a project that was going to turn waste cooking oil into a handsoap for kitchen staff. I thought it was an interesting concept and a great way to recycle. That project however did not reach its  required funding needs and was scrapped.  I was out nothing since the funding was not met.

I looked at funding a college play that was being held in nearby Danville, Kentucky. The project coordinators needed money for props ect.

Sometimes just for fun, I will hang out for hours in Kickstarter just to see all the possible projects out there that need funding and knowing that sometimes, I can help, in my own little way. :0)
